
Class Description: Understand the operation of the AR-15. You will learn about parts and nomenclature, weapon operation and basic tactics used to effectively use the weapon. After the class, you will be able to load and unload the weapon, troubleshoot some basic malfunctions, safely manipulate your weapon and effectively engage your target.
Target Attendee: Student with zero to basic knowledge of AR15 rifles. Pre or post purchase of weapon. Student who needs an overall refresher of basic concepts.
Requirements: US Citizenship and good legal standing. You should bring your weapon however if you do not have one special arrangement can be made. You will need at least 150 rounds of .233 Remington or 5.56 NATO. If you do not have it or do not know what to purchase, you can email me or can pay me for ammunition should it be available. NO Armor Piercing/Tracer or Steel Core Rounds. NOTE: Ammo is not cheap and scarce. You are more than welcome to purchase a CMMG Conversion kit for the AR that allows it to shoot .22LR for much cheaper but you will still need at least 150 rounds of .223 Rem or 5.56 Nato.

Learning Goals: Be able to safely handle a carbine, identify ammunition calibers, rifle options and accessories, how to load and unload the weapon, execution of basic shooting skills and shooting fundamentals, zeroing your optic and some basic ballistics of the round.
Class Format: 5 hours total. In house and range. Class will be tailored to the capability of the students and their ability to obtain competency. Class will proceed rain or shine.
Dress: Dress to climate. If you have kit or a battle belt bring that as well to incorporate that into your training.
